Douglas C-47 in flight

Here we see a Douglas C-47 Dakota in flight. If the slightly blurred serial number is 41-18608 then this aircraft went to the Aeroplane and Armament Experimental Establishment at Boscombe Down in October 1942, but was soon passed back to the USAAF, and joined the 43rd Troop Carrier Squadron of the 315th Troop Carrier Group in Oran in January 1943, then the 8th Air Force in the UK in May 1943.
